48 Laws of Power: Law #34 Be Royal in Your Own Fashion: Act Like A King to Be Treated Like One

Law 34: Be royal in your own fashion: act like a king to be treated like one

  •      The way you carry yourself determines how you’re treated
  •      Appearing vulgar or common will make people disrespect you
  •      Kings respect themselves and inspire the same in others
  •      By acting confident you make yourself destined to wear a crown

This law ties in well with the one about arguing with people. What is seen is always far more potent than what is heard. You can go on and on to someone about this, that and the other thing: the things you do to improve yourself, know how on any topic, etc. They will never receive the message as fully as when they see you killing it yourself.

Walk into a room with dominant body language and a grounded mental state and anything you do thereafter will be seen in the frame of a king amongst his subjects, something you could never convince someone of in words.

Assume the sale. Lack of a red light is is your green light. Every 8/10 and above desperately wants you. This has to be the reality you bring her into. Hot girls will walk right past you on the sidewalk and not even look in your direction. It’s all on you to stop her. Natural selection literally rules out the men who are too scared to lead, too timid to escalate, too afraid to approach. Women are betas. They will not steer your ship, they will find someone who knows how to be a captian.

“You know what a Queen is? She’s the Kings bitch.” -Patrice O’Neal

48 Laws of Power: Law #29 Plan All The Way To The End

Law 29: Plan all the way to the end

  •      The ending is everything
  •      Take into account the scenario
  •      If you plan, you won’t be overwhelmed
  •      Guide fortune by thinking far ahead

Good derivative of this law is to establish a 1,5, 10, 20 year plan. Every new years eve, I gather with my inner circle and we discuss this plan in detail (This is before the new years festivities, we are all sober at this point). We talk about what ideas have worked/failed towards attaining our specific goals and discuss what changes we are going to make. Its great motivational tool throughout the year because we hold each other accountable.

48 Laws Of Power: Law #10 Infection: Avoid the Unhappy & Unlucky

Law 10: Infection: Avoid the unhappy and the unlucky

  •      You’ll die from other’s misery – emotional states are as infectious as diseases.
  •      The unfortunate draw misfortune on themselves and will draw it on you.
  •      Associate with the happy and fortunate.

People are selfish by nature so it only make sense that they try to find someone to share the pain with. They believe it lightens the load rather than just creating more misery.

Anyone who ever got into trouble as a kid knows this feeling. Going to the principal’s office always felt better when you were going with your boys than facing that dickhead by yourself. People don’t really grow out of this mindset: they lack the emotional maturity to deal with their problems on their own

It goes back to the concept of creating value. Those who create attract other people into their sphere of influence. However, some of those they attract are parasites, even if they don’t realize it. They find value and they suck it out due to the fact that they are incapable of creating it on their own. You are a landlord, they are squatters.

“Misery loves company sums this one up.”
